Here are some of the ways they seek to achieve their mission:

The Prescription Pad pharmacy mission is:  As your trusted community pharmacy, we affirm health, wellness, and life through legendary customer service and quality education.

  • Building Key Relationships: The pharmacy works and coordinates with healthcare providers and organizations to connect community members with resources along multiple access points. Including working with hospital transitions of care programs, law enforcement, and actively working with legislators to improve patient healthcare access and educate decision makers.
  • Safe Disposal of Medication: Since 2015, The Prescription Pad has provided a MedSafe disposal container in the lobby for customers to dispose of unwanted/unused prescription medications.  Social media helps publicize the MedSafe disposal bin and promotes safe medication disposal.
  • Community Roots:  The pharmacy MedSafe program was started in support of the local Boy Scouts of America troops and in collaboration with an Eagle Scout. The scout wanted to start a community medication safe disposal program.  He helped implement the MedSafe program and participated in a health fair to educate regarding medication safety and proper disposal.
  • Community Partnerships:  A yearly drug takeback day is hosted inn partnership with the St. Luke’s Coalition for Drug Free Youth and the City of Fruitland.  The pharmacy donated drug/medication at home disposal bags and helped educate/promote drug safety. In addition, the medication disposal bags are available for community members by the pharmacy.  These bags are helpful in serving their home delivery/housebound and hospice patients. It helps both patients and their family/caretakers dispose of medication in a safe manner thus preventing diversion and drug abuse.
  • Utilizing Multi-Resources and Information Platforms:  Hosting programs like Smoking Cessations, a Substance Free Community Night and teaching medication safety during Poison Awareness week are other ways The Prescription Pad is making a difference.  Each year a pharmacy healthcare education agenda is developed and implemented to bring healthcare education to the forefront of The Prescription Pad pharmacy services. Trenton and his team utilize industry resources and programs from Good Neighbor Pharmacy®, Creative Pharmacist™ and participate in local organizations like the Idaho and Oregon Drug Free Coalition to improve community health.
